Hawaiian Tropical Flowers
If there is any Hawaiian tropical flowers that say elegance it has to be the Dendrobium Orchid.
This flower is a tribute to Hawaii itself. Over the years it has symbolized love, tenderness, joy
and friendship. Its cascading sprays and delicate beauty will enthrall anyone that receives these
as a gift. When you do receive them as a gift, they will need some care to make them last as long
as possible.
Unpack your bouquet of flowers as soon as it arrives. Trim the stems back about an inch or even
half an inch will do. Place your bouquet in a clean vase and add preservatives, which are usually
provided from the florist that delivered them. If you find they are wilted a little when you unpack
them, don't despair. Just get a large container and fill it with warm water. The usual temperature
for the water is about 50 to 55 degrees F. Take your bouquet and completely submerge them in
this water for at least ten minutes.
These orchids are slightly allergic to ethylene so try to keep them in a well-ventilated sanitary
place. These flowers will stay beautiful in the right conditions, make sure they are not exposed to
extremely cold temperatures, if the temperature drops below 45 degrees F it can damage your
flowers.
These flowers will thrive in your home under the right conditions. You don't need a greenhouse
to nurse these along as long as you place your flowers into sunlight for part of the day, such as
morning or the late afternoon sun. They should flourish and stay healthy and happy. When
watering, do change your water frequently and make sure your vase is kept clean. This will help
to make your flowers last that much longer and ensure that you will have plenty of time to
admire and enjoy them.
If you want to plant these in your garden, it is not difficult under the right conditions. They will
flourish here too. Volcanic cinders are a feature that the orchid loves. It keeps the soil moist, yet
well drained as well as providing air for the roots. So if you're really enthused by these flowers,
go ahead and plant one in your garden.
