FTD Florists
There are millions of florists on today's market and most of them do what they are meant to do -
take your order and deliver it. The FTD florist goes a little further than this by giving away a
bouquet of flowers free once a year to celebrate what has become known as Good Neighbor Day.
This started after the 9/11 incident and continues every year. On September first every year, FTD
invites customers to pick up a dozen free flowers to share with friends in a good neighbor policy.
It doesn't have to be just once a year that you can give flowers to a neighbor, though.
Being a good neighbor means more than living in harmony with the people next door even
though you don't really know them. It means more than keeping your stereo down or cleaning up
after your dog and this was never so obvious as after 9/11. This brought new meaning to the
words good neighbor.
There are so many ways to be a good neighbor every day of the year by continuing to give to
charities, especially those who help in disastrous situations whether they are man made or
natural. This is being a good neighbor -giving when we have enough of everything to be able to
share with those that don't. Another thing that will make you a good neighbor is something as
simple as donating blood at your local blood donor clinic. Take a class in CPR and first aid. This
could help tremendously if there was another disaster or maybe even your neighbor if they were
in trouble. It could mean saving someone's life.
Invite a co-worker or someone that lives alone to dinner. It may make all the difference in their
lives and it will give you a felling of giving not only the dinner you serve, but the companionship
they may enjoy in doing this. An act of kindness is a very powerful thing and it can spread fast if
everyone just did some little thing to make someone else's life a little easier. What would the
investment be - a few hours of your time? You can share more than flowers in this big beautiful
world and the rewards are many in return.
