Fresh Flower Arrangements
When we try putting together fresh flower arrangements, it is always a bit difficult to get them
standing just in the right place. It is even harder to get them to stay there, but there are many
items that can be used to make your flower arrangement as good as what a florist would deliver.
If you are in a hurry, one good idea is to just want to place a few flowers in a vase to put on the
table. You can do this in a way that your flowers will look very pretty and without investing a lot
of time. Take your vase and get some waterproof tape. Crisscross it on the top of the jar and
insert your flowers. They are guaranteed to stay just where you put them and will improve your
bouquet immensely.
Another idea for making the close to perfect arrangement is by using floral netting or chicken
wire. Both can be hidden in the foam and will keep your stems just where you want them. If
you're not using foam, bend the chicken wire to the edge of the vase - it works wonders. For
small stem flowers, chicken wire works wonderful if you crumple it and place the stems in
through it.
You can buy lead cross bar slings at the florist shop. These are placed on top of the container and
held in place with lightweight flower wire and they work wonderful. Floral foam sticks work
well also when they are stuffed in a vase. Your best bet is when using this is to use an opaque
vase. Foam prongs are another wonderful asset when you are putting together a flower
arrangement. These are used to secure the foam to the bottom of the vase, but you have to put the
pins in place first with hot glue. Then after it is set, you're ready to go. You may not need to
have to do this too often as it can be used for many different types of flowers. There are lots of
helpers out there on the market to make it look as if arranging flowers was just a normal part of
your day.
