Flower Arranging
Do you think you have a knack for flower arranging, but you're not quite satisfied with your
work? Well, there are some things you can do to improve your artistic venture. One thing about
learning at home is that nobody sees your mistakes - only you. So there is plenty of time for
improvement and that is just what you will do if you start learning about flowers.
The first thing you should do is to visit your local library and start reading and looking at designs
that professionals use. It will also do you a tremendous help to learn about the different kinds of
flowers and their likes and dislikes. Learn as much as you can about this and it will help you for
a long time to come. When you're looking at the designs, you will find that most of them hold a
wealth of information as to how to make an arrangement. With some of them there will be step-
by-step instructions.
Start your project with a simple design and keep doing it until you get it perfect. When you have
mastered the simple design, then you can move on to something a little more challenging. When
you have done several different designs and you are feeling really comfortable with it, start
observing plants and shrubs as they grow. Your greatest teacher will be nature itself. If you
mimic nature, you cannot go wrong. In nature, things do not grow in a perfect shape. Keep this in
mind as you design your arrangement and you can't go astray. The more you observe nature, the
better you will become in your design.
It's up to you how far you want to take this. If you just want to arrange flowers for your home
then so be it. That is what you will do, but if you want to become a designer yourself then you
are on your way and when you become good at the process, there is money to be made. Always
remember that nature usually grows haphazardly and so should your arrangements. The
difference is that with your arrangements there will be a well made plan for it to look haphazard
