Cheap Roses
If you're looking for cheap roses on today's market they are not out there. Roses are expensive
no matter where you find them, which keeps most of us from enjoying or giving them to those
we love. If you are looking for cheap roses, then the best place to look is in your own back yard
by growing them yourself. This is not as difficult as you would think.
All you need to grow your own roses is a good patch of dirt that is in view of full sunlight, has
good ventilation and good air circulation. A soil high in organic matter is excellent for roses.
They need at least six hours of sun a day. If this is not possible in your garden then the morning
sun is preferred. This helps to keep the leaves drier and in turn helps to prevent disease. Shade in
the afternoon helps to prolong the quality of the rose. If the rose bush does not have good
drainage soil, then there is a good chance of losing your plants. You have to have soil that will
drain in five to six hours.
Roses will grow in just about any soil, but to have roses you can be proud of, they do much
better in fertile soil that is high in organic matter. This can be achieved by adding organic matter
over the rose bed prior to tilling the ground, but for each bushel of organic matter you have to
add about one half pound of superhosphate to the soil. Roses prefer a soil PH of 6.0 to 7.0and
they will thrive in these conditions. Make sure you get the rose beds ready long before you plant.
This gives the nutrients time to work through the soil for the best results possible.
So now you have your own roses. You can cut as many as you want when you want them, bring
them inside your home or give them to a friend. When looking for roses at a cheap price, this is
as about as cheap as you will ever get.
