Care For Roses
Everyone loves roses. They are truly a beautiful flower and in very big demand at the florist.
Unfortunately you usually pay a big price for them too, so have you ever given thought to
growing your own. The care for roses is not that great and can be very rewarding with not only
the rose you grow, but the joy that comes with watching it grow.
The amount of colors you can choose when growing your own roses is astounding, and the most
beautiful of all is the tea rose. This rose is the choice of most florists because the blossoms are
spectacular with each flower having about sixty or more petals. The fragrance is directly from
heaven, which makes it the perfect flower to cut and bring inside or to give as a gift. They differ
from other roses because when they bloom they produce their flower usually one bloom to one
stem rather than in clusters and they can continue to bloom right through the growing season.
The only place you have to give extra care to a tea rose bush is if you live in a colder climate.
Other than that there is very little difference in caring for the tea rose as it is with any other. They
are just as pest resistant as any other rose. Tea roses should be planted in 18 to 36 inches apart or
if you want you can plant them in a pot and they do very well if cared for properly. You will
have a few choices to make when shopping for the tea rose. They come in many colors. Then
there are different names and different fragrances. They come in many different shades of white,
pink or yellow. To ensure good growth add plant food when needed, water when needed and as
for pruning fall or early spring is the best time to do this. So get out there and grow your own tea
roses and enjoy them all summer long. If you're going visiting, what better gift to take than a
rose right from your own garden?
