Bridal Flowers
If you're thinking of a florist to do your bridal flowers, then there are some things you
need to do before you make your final decision. You want the day to be perfect and the
flowers are a big part of that day.
First you want to book the site for your reception and have some idea of how many
arrangements you will need to make it look the best. You will also need to know what
colors you're going to have in your wedding to prevent colors from clashing. If you are
going to have floral center pieces on the tables, then you'll need the number of guests that
will be expected. You will also need to know how many bridesmaids you will have and
the color of their dresses. Then it's time to think of the mothers and grandmothers and
special guest that may attend. Depending on how fancy you want to go, there are some
other considerations such as flowers for the rehearsal dinner, a post wedding brunch,
entryways, bathrooms, gift or cake table, or the buffet tables.
There are also some questions you should ask the florist, such as if he/she prefers doing
traditional or modern arrangements, past samples of their work and if the same person
will be working on your arrangements. Ask how many events they will be doing on the
same weekend that your wedding will be taking place. Don't be afraid to ask if there are
cheaper flowers in season at the time of your wedding and how you can get the most for
your money. Ask if you can see a sample of a bouquet or centerpiece.
A good thing to know is whether they set up at the site. If so, ask how long they spend
there getting things ready. Don't forget to ask about any extra charges that may be
incurred in the delivery or set up. Ask them if they provide the vases or if you have to see
about them yourself. Above all when you get things pinned down to what is expected
from each of you and how much you will pay, don't forget to ask for a quote in writing.
