Black and white Rose
While a botanical scientist strives to produce a truly black rose it has not taken place yet. The
black and white rose is as opposite as they look in appearance as well as meaning, yet the black
rose is highly sought after in today's world. The closest thing however, you will get to a black
rose is the deep crimson red of the Rosa Black magic. This rose is so vividly deep in its red color
that it gives the appearance of black, while on the other hand white roses are commonly used
throughout the world for many different occasions.
There are many places that white roses are used such as at a confirmation of a child as they walk
to the altar clasping a single white rose of a sign of purity. Another occasion may be a wedding
where the bridal bouquets may be all white roses with a dab of green intertwined or the church
itself may be decorated in white roses, again as a sign of purity, or maybe at the graduation of a
daughter where you would give a white rose. With white roses there are some that can be
purchased that are pure white but most of what's on the market is an off-white or cream color.
Everyone welcomes the white rose whereas the black rose will send a little chill of fear to the
heart of anyone that receives it, even though it may be in fun. The black rose has a mystic air
about it that the first thing that comes to mind to most people is death.
The best rule of thumb is to stay away from the black rose, unless it is for an occasion where it is
expected and its meaning is not misinterpreted such as Halloween or plays or things of that
nature. Other than that it is hardly worth the risk of losing someone's friendship or love because
of a flower you sent even if in jest. The best thing to do is not send it at all. It is absolutely
amazing the volumes that two different kinds of flowers can speak but they do and it is loud and
clear. White roses stand for purity, while the black rose stands for death. Although it sounds so
simple, it can, in the end make your life very complicated if you happen to send the wrong rose.
